Teo

Oct 11

About noon on Tuesday, Teo dropped in on his final ski run.  I have no doubt that doggie heaven is filled with snowballs and elk poop flavored treats.

Turns out all the recent issues are tied to a megaesophagus and some time saturday night or sunday he aspirated into his lungs.  You can imagine the raging pneumonia infection that got going.  After 48 hours of high level antibiotics, he fever was still going up, he had stop engaging with me during visits and he still couldn’t stand – let alone go anywhere under his own power.

I had to make the hard call, I think it was only fair to him because of the multitude of issues.

Thank you to the tri-pawd community for you help and support.

Ohhhhhh, I am so very, very sorry. Completely unexpected.

You clearly are each other’s best friends…soul mates. I don’t think anyo e could have crammed as much love and fun as you two did into every single second you were together. You both played full out and he plowed through life eafging his tail right up until he told you he was ready to go. Teo knew you would understand and give him yet another gift of your love and decotion when he needed it most.

I went back and watched his videos sgain. Even through the tears, you HAVE to smile as you watch the sheer joy Teo was having in tne snow!! OMD! What a happy, hapy boy!

And the ne where he’s plowing through the deep snow and all you see is his tail wagging non-stop……that is the epitome of joy and must livng n tne moment!

But, to me, the one that defines “dog being dog” is when he chases after his toy, starts heading back to you, but stops t celebrate by rolling in the snow with a huges smile on his face and tail wagging!

Teo’s tme here was waaaaay to short. He left you with so many wnderful memories…..memories that will always remind yo of the very special connection you two had. NOTHING can separate a bond like that. He’ll continue to make his presence known, I have NO doubt!

I so hope you will continue to share more of Teo’s journey with us when you can. I could look at his videos and pictures all day!

“It’s not the years in a life…..it’s the life in the years”.

Surrounding you with Teo’s love, grace and happy waggin’ tail!

I’m so sorry! I had been following Teo’s blog and knew he was ill, but obviously I was hoping it was just a “bump in the road.” I’m so sorry you’ve lost your boy. Sending healing thoughts to you.
